Benefiting the Cancer Resource Center of Mendocino CountyMark your calendars for Labor Day weekend 2005. "Pure Mendocino" is an exciting, unique celebration ofMendocino County's leadership in organics and community health, and a major fund raising event for the CancerResource Center of Mendocino County.The Cancer Resource Center mission is inextricably tied to community health. In this way, it shares in the missionsof Mendocino County's organic farmers and processors. So the Cancer Resource Center has joined in commoncause with the Mendocino organics community to create a major new event for Mendocino County.
The objectives of Pure Mendocino are to promote a healthy environment and healthy communities, to promote Mendocino County's leadership in organic and sustainable farming, and to raise funds for the work of the Cancer Resource Center.
Pure Mendocino will include a weekend of organic farm and processor tours, presentations and workshops duringthe days, culminating in a "big tent" organic food and wine tasting, dinner and auction (modeled on the CancerResource Center's "Seat at the Table" art auction of last year). The "big tent" event will be held at Dark Horse, Paul Dolan's biodynamically farmed organic vineyard and ranch off Old River Road, south of Ukiah.
