The tour will give a view of sustainable farming practices in action. “The goal of the farm tour,” said CRCMC Founder, Sara O’Donnell, “is to encourage people to learn more about the connection between food, the environment, and health.” Each year the Pure Mendocino Farm Tour and Picnic offers a taste of a different Mendocino County growing region. The 2008 focus is on Potter Valley, just north of Lake Mendocino off of Highway 20. Guinness McFadden has been farming organically for 37 years. He and his family ranch organic cattle, produce culinary herbs, Pure Mendocino Organic Food and Wine Tasting Visitors can experience all of Mendocino County’s growing regions Saturday, August 23rd from 4-7:30 p.m., when over thirty local chefs, organic vintners, and purveyors of organic and wild-crafted foods gather on the vineyard patio of Parducci Wine Cellars. Tickets are $40 per person. “We want everyone to learn more about our Pure Mendocino partners and the amazing resources Mendocino County has to offer,” said O’Donnell.
